Charice Pempengco's first and most-awaited album will hit record stores as soon as the R n' B child star finishes recording songs for the compilation.
Pempengco announced during a surprise guesting on dzMM's celebrity show on Monday that she is just recording a few songs for the self-titled album before its release.
"I have an upcoming album, at last, first solo album. I'm just finishing it, and I will do a recording later," the child star announced during the interview with Tita Cristy Fermin and Jobert Sucaldito.
Pempengco said the album will include two original songs titled "Born to Love You Forever" and "It Can Only Get Better" composed especially for her by Swedish song artists.
The album will also include a revival of Whitney Houston's "And I'm Telling You," which paved the way for the child singer's international recognition through YouTube.com.
After guesting on Korea's Star King, Pempengco was featured on the Ellen Degeneres Show and wowed U.S. viewers.
The hit guesting eventually gave Pempengco a chance to show her talent in London at the Paul O'Grady Show.
It was also announced during the radio show that ABS-CBN's Star Records is cooking up a new singing adventure for the child singer.
Pempengco had no specific announcement about a concert, but the radio program's hosts said Pempengco may hold one abroad.

Agence France-Presse Iowa's biggest cities were submerged Sunday after swollen rivers forced thousands of residents to flee their homes amid devastating floods in the Midwestern US state. A large swath of Des Moines was underwater after a river levee was breached in the city of 200,000, and officials were concerned that a forecast thundershower could raise river levels even higher. In Cedar Rapids, floodwaters began receding late Saturday, and authorities allowed inspectors to do an initial assessment of whether a home is safe to enter. But "the city continues to be very dangerous but we are doing everything in our power to get people access to their homes as soon as possible in a safe manner," warned Cedar Rapids Mayor Jeff Beauregard. In the state capital, muddy water from the Des Moines River covered several bridges and poured down streets north of the state Capitol, swallowing a neighborhood with about 200 homes and 40 businesses. "This held for about four hours this morning and they pulled everyone out because it was starting to get loose," Des Moines Fire Department Captain Tony Merrill said, as he looked at a hastily constructed sand berm that floodwaters busted. "It's very disheartening," he told AFP. "They put down two miles of sand bags last night. They were making 8,000 bags an hour." At least 2,500 volunteers had registered to help hold the water back by filling and laying down even more sandbags under the hot sun. "We've got folks who've been working since early this morning to get it under control," said Rick Kozin, a spokesman for the Polk County emergency operations center. "There's still a lot of water in the river. The situation still remains serious," Kozin told AFP. Unprecedented flooding covered hundreds of city blocks in Cedar Rapids, as officials urged residents to limit their water use to drinking, according to the municipality's website. The University of Iowa, based in Iowa City, cancelled classes until June 22 as the flood threatened its dorms, research facilities, library and art museum. "This has been a very trying week for our state," Iowa Governor Chet Culver said in a statement. "Responding to a crisis like this takes the cooperation of everyone, from the federal government down to the local communities." The toll included a 59-year-old woman found dead in her flooded basement in Cedar Rapids Friday, local media said. The disaster began when a major tornado struck on May 25. It was followed by heavy rains, and on Wednesday another twister touched ground in western Iowa, killing four boy scouts. Five others were killed in other parts of the Midwestern United States by flooding and tornadoes. Serious flooding has hit the entire region, including parts of South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. In an area known as the nation's corn belt, the flooding will likely put further pressure on already high food prices as initial estimates place the damage at a loss of up to 20 percent of Iowa's crops. Rail shipments have also nearly ground to a halt in the state as floodwaters covered and even washed out track and key bridges and barge traffic on the Mississippi River was also interrupted, local media reported. The power of the rushing floodwaters in Cedar Rapids was awesome. Houses and cars could be seen pressed up against a rail bridge which caught them as they were swept downstream. "We're trapped with nowhere to go," said Gloria Hines, who lives about a dozen blocks from where the Cedar River spilled over. Torrential rains Thursday left downriver towns preparing for the worst and the National Guard called in to help an army of volunteers with sandbagging and rescue efforts. A boat ride through Cedar Rapid's water-logged downtown saw every branch of government crippled by the floods. The library, the federal building and city hall were all filled with water, which rippled through basements and pulled files and furniture out through the windows. Inmates in the county jail were evacuated along with their mattresses.

The Sandiganbayan has sentenced to 12 years imprisonment a former education official and five other people for a fraudulent purchase of construction materials for an elementary school building in Davao City in 1991.
In a ruling dated August 1, the anti-graft court convicted for graft Venancio Nava, former regional director of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports in Davao. The others were DECS-Region XI assistant regional director Susana B. Cabahug, administrative officer Aquilina B. Granada, finance officer Carlos B. Bautista, administrative officer Edilberto P. Madria, supply officer Felipe Pancho and private defendant Jesusa dela Cruz, also president of private supplier Giomiche Inc.
They were also ordered by the anti-graft court to jointly to return P512,967.69 to DECS for the overpricing of construction materials based on computations by government auditors.
The court said the project was awarded to Giomiche Inc. without bidding and the officials doctored documents to make it appear that the procurement rules were observed.
To make things worse, it was also indubitably established that… the accused overpriced the construction supplies and materials in the amount of P512,967.69 to the disadvantage and prejudice of the government, the court said in the decision.
The six accused had argued that the project did not go through the usual bidding because it was urgent. They also told the court that while other suppliers offered reasonable prices for the construction materials, they cannot meet the required volume of supplies.
The graft court, however, said the claims were doubtful.
The prosecution was able to prove, with testimonial and documentary evidence, taken individually and collectively, that unravel the chain of processes that show the involvement of all the accused in a scheme successfully maneuvered by the concerted efforts of these public officers led by accused Nava who was holding the highest position, to defraud the coffers of the government, said the court.

Filipino taekwondo bet Tshomlee Go said Wednesday it will be a dream come true to win the Olympic gold medal in Beijing and vowed to go all out for the chance of a lifetime when he reports for action in the -58 kilogram class at the Science and Technology University gym next week.
Go and the countrys only other taekwondo qualifier Toni Rivero leave Manila for Beijing Friday. Accompanying them are Korean coach Kim Hong Sik and womens coach Rocky Samson. The draw in the mens and womens events is set on April 18. Go will fight on Aug. 20 and Rivero, two days later.
Go, 27, said hes now more prepared and focused than at the 2004 Athens Olympics where he was eliminated by Spains Juan Antonio Ramos via a 7-6 decision in his debut.
It was my first Olympics, recalled Go. I couldnt believe I was there. Now, four years later, Im more experienced, more focused. I dont think about how many wins I need to get a medal or how strong my opponents are. I just concentrate on one fight at a time.
In Gos division, there are 16 contenders, eight of whom he has faced in previous competitions. Although he has beaten the likes of Thailands Dech Sutthikunkam, Germanys Levent Tuncat, Afghanistans Rohullah Nikpai and Benins Jean Moloise, Go isnt taking anyone lightly – not even Belizes wildcard entry Alfonso Martinez.
Go admitted he has never defeated the top two favorites, Ramos and Chinese-Taipeis Chu Mu Yen, but theres always a first time. Go lost to Chu in the Manchester qualifiers last year. He dropped a pair of hairline cliffhangers to Ramos in the Paris qualifiers for the 2004 Olympics and in Athens.
A two-month training program at the Pung Saeng High School in Seongnam near Seoul warmed up Go for Beijing.
It was like a military camp, said Go. We trained thrice a day, Monday to Sunday. We were up before 7 for 7:30 practice then we trained some more at 2:30 and 7:30 before sleeping at 10. We ran up and down over 100 steps of stairs they carved on a hill every morning.
Go said he learned a lot of new techniques from Kim in the grueling training sessions.
Coach Kim taught me many things, continued Go. In the past, I would just come forward and try to kick as quickly as possible. He polished my stepping, approach, style and technique. I learned to fight in and out and how to position myself after a kick so I wont get hit by a counter. Coach always reminds me to keep my focus, stay with the basics, be ready to attack and never bring down my guard.
Go said Kim also drilled him on how to beat Chu in case they meet in Beijing. Ive got a few surprises for him, said Go. Just like Ramos. I will fight them differently from when I lost to them before.
Gos father Tomas and brother Jefferthom, who operate a taekwondo gym in Los Angeles, are arriving tomorrow and will fly to Beijing with his mother Lilia on Aug. 19. It will be a special treat for Go to perform in front of his family.
Im dedicating my second Olympics to our country, said Go. This is for our people. Im hoping to share my Olympic dream with our countrymen and everyone who means so much to me.
Go said his Olympic training has not allowed him too much time to be with his girlfriend, former Ateneo taekwondo jin Renee Ortega.
Since I came back from Korea, Ive been so busy training, said Go. She comes to see me in the gym and thats the only time we get together.
Go said the P15 million incentive promised for an Olympic gold medal is extra motivation.
Of course, I think about it, said Go. That amount is no joke. But Im not putting pressure on myself because of it. Am I nervous?
Naturally. I like it when I get nervous because it pumps me up. I dont think Ill do well if Im not nervous.
Go said he was inspired by the opening ceremonies on TV.
It wouldve been nice to participate but I understand why were leaving later, said Go. We also missed the opening parade in Athens. If we left to join the parade, we wouldve been too early because taekwondo is one of the last events. We wouldve been able to train only for an hour once a day in Beijing. Unlike in Manila, were able to continue training. Anyway, well be there for the closing program. I watched the parade on TV and Manny Pacquiao as our flag bearer really inspired me.
Four wins in a row will earn the gold medal and three will guarantee a silver. The six jins who lose to the two finalists knock each other out in a consolation bracket with the last two survivors gaining a bronze medal apiece.

Reuters BEIJING - Foreign investors will probably come away from the devastating earthquake that hit China this week more reassured than shaken, thanks to the government's quick and open response. The 7.9 magnitude quake that struck southwestern Sichuan province on Monday, with its epicenter in a relatively remote, mountainous area, has had a bigger impact on human life than on the economy. In comparison to past disasters, including the 2003 SARS virus crisis that was initially covered up and snowstorms earlier this year that Beijing was slow to respond to, the government has swiftly mobilized resources, sending tens of thousands of troops to help the relief effort. It has also allowed a freer flow of information, with state media giving frequent updates on the number of people killed and missing. Foreign reporters have been allowed into the stricken areas, in sharp contrast to what happened during the unrest in Tibet and neighboring provinces in mid-March. That, more than worries about the potential impact of natural disasters on their business, is likely to remain in investors' minds, said Edward Radcliffe, a partner with corporate advisory firm Vermillion. "These things could happen almost anywhere," Radcliffe said. " should probably come away from the events of the last few days with, the tragedy aside, relatively positive feelings about how the government's responded to the earthquake and how it's marshaled its resources." Learning the hard way China's handling of the earthquake stands out not only against its own record. The Myanmar junta's slow response to the recent cyclone there has drawn widespread criticism, highlighting the loss of confidence that opacity brings. Ian Stones, a long-time Chinese-based businessman and adviser to the Conference Board, said he had seen significant improvements in Beijing's approach in recent years, particularly since the SARS cover-up that marred its image. "They've learned the hard way that they can't afford to let that happen again," Stones said. "It simply comes down to trust. If a government covers up, you don't trust a government." China's attractiveness to foreign investors, drawn by its low-cost workforce, strong supply chains and generally solid infrastructure, shows in the numbers. The country drew $74.8 billion in non-financial foreign direct investment last year, up 14 percent from 2006. In the first four months of this year, FDI jumped more than 59 percent from a year earlier to $35 billion. As part of its efforts to develop the interior, dubbed the "Go West" campaign, Beijing has offered enticements such as tax breaks to draw more foreign investment inland. For its part, Sichuan attracted more than $2.0 billion in FDI last year, according to the provincial government, up from $1.47 billion in 2006 and around $1 billion in 2005. Second guessing? Foreign firms including chips maker, Intel, and cement manufacturer, Lafarge, have made big investments in Sichuan's capital, Chengdu, which largely escaped damage in the quake. However, the earthquake, coming after the snowstorms that crippled transport links and cut power to large swathes of the centre and south of the country, could prompt some businesses to think twice about whether they want to move inland from the prosperous coast, analysts said. Many foreign companies considering a move to the centre and west of the country will now probably have a closer look at the vulnerability of the infrastructure in those areas, said William Hess, greater China manager for Global Insight in Beijing. "Even though this is an exceptional circumstance, other interruptions could happen to disrupt logistics and transport, which are obviously quite important to any kind of manufacturing operation," Hess said. Still, he said the overall trend of increasing investment in those areas would probably continue. Stones pointed to a potential silver lining from the disaster: it may focus attention on the quality of construction, something foreign firms could be well placed to improve. "With raising building standards and quality, there's definitely opportunity there," he said.
